Our Process

Please feel free to read through our process.

Step 1

We receive information through our referral form for a potential recipient.

2

Step 2

We contact the referrer to confirm the information and then reach out to the referral.

3

Step 3

Once selected, we meet with the referral and anyone they wish to bring with them. We learn about the child(ren) the garden will be made for.

4

Step 4

We visit the potential areas the garden could be installed. We take measurements and make a note of the environmental conditions and any factors that may affect the garden.

5

Step 5

With the help of our design expert, the recipient selects plants and flowers from model gardens. The design expert also notes any particular colors, styles, or sentimental touches associated with the child(ren).

6

Step 6

Our design expert compiles all of the information and plants chosen and creates a few different designs for the recipient to choose from. The final design can still be updated from this point but it is a tangible starting point.

7

Step 7

A date is selected and agreed to by the recipient. Subscribers are then notified of an upcoming project for which they can volunteer at. If the recipient knows any volunteers that would be willing to help, we gladly bring them on board.

8

Step 8

Materials are ordered at this time to align with the date. We ask the recipient to be involved in the process of creating the garden and planting the plants if they are capable. We have found that it is often therapeutic and beneficial for the recipient to get involved in the project.

9

Step 9

Our intent is to complete the gardens in one day, within reason. We are an efficient and hardworking group. Upon completion of the garden, we also invite community partners and donors to the site. We take a group picture with every willing volunteer and community partner.

10

Step 10

Our goal is to honor each child we plant a garden for. We interview willing recipients to showcase our work on our website and on social media.
